He was named employee of the month in August 1987. Bud was employed by the Missouri State Highway Department as a negotiator and appraiser for 27 years, retiring in 1988, because of ill health. Eaton served in the Pacific Theater, Leyette Island in the Philippines and Japan occupied territory. Walter was drafted into the United States Army in September 1944. He grew up in the Jones Chapel area and attended Waddle Grade School and Midway High School. Bud was born the 27th of March, 1926, in Newton County, Mo., to Sherman Leslie Eaton and Hope Marie Sanders. ![]() (MaJanuary 29, 2008) Walter Willis (Bud) Eaton passed from this life to a better one, at his home, Jan. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Friday from 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. 14 grandchildren 26 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Survivors include three daughters, Daphnea McClure and husband, Mike, of Joplin, Opal Richardson, of Wyandotte, and Nancy Steward and husband, Don, of Webb City, Mo. In addition to her parents, Dalpha was preceded in death by her husband, Doler Lester Allen two daughters, Doleren Davis and Barbara Conery and her son, Doler Gene Allen.
